For about a century Echinacea has been among the most widely used herbs in the world, administered with the onset of the initial symptoms of common cold and flu. Echinacea roots contain echinocosides, the glycosides comprising its the major anti microbial and anti viral component. Echinocosides act mildly against Streptococci and Staphylococcus aureus - 6 mg of echinocoside is the equivalent of one penicillin unit. Echinacea contains a number of other biologically active compounds that act synergically with echinocosides.
Echinacea is an excellent preventive agent in the season predominant for common cold and flu. It relieves the symptoms of flu and cold, bronchitis, urinary bladder infections, and common fungal infections. Unlike antibiotics, that are not very useful in colds and flu, Echinacea significantly reduces the unpleasant and painful symptoms - sweating, sore throat, muscle ache and headache.
Echinacea improves the immune resistance of the organism by stimulating antibody production, it increases white blood cell count and stimulates their functions, thus fighting the infection. White blood cells comprise the lymphocytes which neutralize viruses; the NK cells (natural killer cells), which attack tumor cells; macrophages, which "engulf" and destroy bacterial pathogens. Orally taken Echinacea is effective against chronic fungal infections, including vaginal thrush. The product Echinacea+ is a combination of dry extract from Echinacea angustifolia roots and vitamin C which act synergically in the human body. Vitamin C influences intracellular oxidation and reduction processes. It improves internal tissue oxygenation.

Dosage
At the onset of initial flu symptoms: 1 to 2 capsules 2-3 times daily during meals for 7 to 14 days.
for the purpose of prevention: 1 capsule 3 times daily for 14 days, and after 4-5 days drug free period, the cycle may be repeated.
Storage
At moderate temperature at 15 - 30ºC at a place protected from sunlight.
