Properties
Devil's claw (Harpagophytum procumbens) is a herbaceous plant, occurring in the desert areas in Southwest Africa. It is called Devil's claw because of the flat thorn-like form of its fruits, which resemble a nail.
For many centuries and to the present day, the local inhabitants use the herb to treat inflammatory diseases of the joints, such as arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis.
Presently, the effectiveness has been confirmed by numerous scientific and clinical research investigations. Detailed studies on the composition of the herb has been carried out too. The plant Devil's claw has been found to contain the glycoside harpagoside, which has a marked effect on all types of arthritis.
The disease arthritis is an inflammation of one or more joints and is characterized by swelling, reddening of the skin, painfulness and restricted movements of the affected joint. The Devil's claw relieves the pain, lessens the edema and increases the mobility at the joint.
Apart from its anti-inflammatory action, the herb also has antioxidant effect - it reduces abnormally increased serum cholesterol and lipid levels.
In the product Arthrovit, the complex vitamin and micro element supplement acts adjuvant and enhances the activity of the Devil's claw. Antioxidants scavenge the free radicals that cause inflammation in the human body.
Indications
The product Vita Select is recommended for:
prevention of malignant changes resulting from exposure to ultraviolet rays, or high radioactivity, or smoking and other carcinogens, absorbed daily with the food, alcohol or from the breading air.
preventive means in hypertension, abnormally high blood levels of cholesterol, glucose and lipids, as well as in obesity.
prevention of cardiovascular disorders and atherosclerosis.
Adverse Reactions
Arthrovit is not recommended in people with gastric and/or duodenal ulcers.
Dosage
The recommended dose of Arthrovit is one capsule twice daily during meals in cases of inflammation affecting the joints, in arthritis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis.
Storage
At moderate temperature at 15 - 30ºC at a place protected from sunlight.
